They say that a picture tells a thousand words - but can a picture make you laugh out loud?

Following the success of Framed funny photo competition during In Stitches 2008 we're extending ourselves in 2009 to run Re-Framed funny photo competition with $2000 worth of prizes on offer.

Due to the huge response we had last year we’ve divided the competition into two categories – the Open category, which is open to everyone, and a special Secondary Schools category, which, not surprisingly, is open to students in Years 8 to 12.

All you need is a digital photograph that makes you - and hopefully our judges – laugh out loud.

We will be showing off entries in our online photo album and maybe putting some on display during In Stitches from Wednesday 24 June to Saturday 4 July, 2009.

This section is open to anyone of any age, with a sense of humour and access to a digital camera and the internet. The winner will receive a fantastic prize worth $1000.

In 2009, the Department of Education’s Year of Creativity focuses on celebrating and developing creativity within Queensland schools.

Combine creativity and humour in your entry and you could be in the running for a $500 prize, and a $500 prize for your school.
