As possibly the worst financial year on record draws to a close, QPAC presents In Stitches - a laughter stimulus package designed to help you laugh off the ‘GFC’ during nine hilarious nights of side-splitting comedy.
The QPAC Playhouse will become the QPAC Funhouse when Australia’s wittiest comedians Wil Anderson, Julia Morris and Heath Franklin’s Chopper inject high-dosages of hilarity into the local market with depression-busters Mike Wilmot from Canada providing global crisis relief for the domestic economy.
Laughter also proves to be the best medicine in the Cremorne Theatre, with a comedy lead recovery featuring the infectious humour of perennial favourites The Kransky Sisters, Alice Springs super mom Fiona O’Loughlin, and co-host of triple M’s weekend breakfast team Justin Hamilton.
Add to the prescription a Polytoxic’s comically kitsch Teuila Postcards, Anthony Menchetti’s Gay Conversion School Drop Out, the best of Brisbane Stand-Up, and Sammy J in The Forest of Dreams - a musical, with puppets, for adults - and you’re guaranteed enough laughter to beat a 1930s level depression.
We’re doing our bit for the budget-conscious consumer with recession-proof ticket prices from $23 to $39. Plus a series of Stitched-up packages offering great savings when you buy two shows, a Blow your Bonus Six Pack for groups, and the opportunity to Join the Bread Line and save on last minute tickets.
And for the fiscally conservative, recently-redundant or just plain cheap, In Stitches Outside is a bonus program of FREE music and comedy to be held in the Cascade Court from 8pm nightly.
And if that’s not enough to stimulate a laughter-lead recovery, then we’re handing out the cash for the funniest digital images entered in our In Stitches Re-Framed competition.
